When you arrive at the theater we issue you a standard military uniform:

ACT 1:

You train in basic combat techniques with Jason Christopher Hartley: 
a crash course in rifle handling, room clearing and engaging the enemy.

You are deployed: 
you enter a multi-room installation to put your military training to the test.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

1. Will I get yelled at like in basic training in the movies?No. That's just in the movies.

2. Can all ages/types come to SURRENDER? This is about war. Physical participation in this show is not appropriate for anyone under 16. All types are welcome, of course. Some portions of SURRENDER contain adult language and content.

3. Does this involve strenous physical activity?No. There is physical activity, walking quickly and carrying a rifle, but strenuous physical actions are not required.

4. What if I don't want to wear a uniform?The uniform is a fundamental part of the training, so it's required. We have uniforms and boots in all regulation sizes. There will be a place for you to change in private and lock up your valuables. Limited observer-only tickets are available for those who do not wish to participate in the full experience, who will not be required to wear uniforms.

5. What if I am anti-war? What if I am pro war?All the more reason to come. We hope to surprise you and challenge assumptions. This event hopes to create a conversation between people of different points of view. Opinions are encouraged and are welcome in the theater.
